Jury selection is set to get underway today in the first degree murder trial of 28-year-old Darius Sullivan of Bourbonnais. Sullivan is accused of pulling the trigger on the gun used to kill Bradley Police Sergeant Marlene Rittmanic and seriously wound her partner Officer Tyler Bailey when the pair answered a call about a dog barking in a car in the parking lot of a hotel near Northfield Square Mall at the end of December back in 2021. The trial is scheduled to last two weeks in front of Judge Kathy Bradshaw-Elliott.
