The Xandria Harris murder trial is set to go to the jury today. Thursday afternoon the defense rested their case and prosecutors called three rebuttal witnesses. One of those witnesses was  Kankakee County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Trent Bukowski who testified he’d done a records search for any police calls for domestic disturbances between Harris and her then boyfriend Darius Sullivan in 2018 or 2019, a time frame referenced during testimony earlier in the trial. Chief Bukowski said his search didn’t turn up any records of such a call. Prosecutors are expected to rest their case today and the case should go to the jury for deliberations. Harris is accused for her part in the December 2021 shooting death of Bradley Police Sergeant Marlene Rittmanic and wounding of Officer Tyler Bailey. Darius Sullivan was found guilty last year of pulling the trigger on the gun that killed Rittmanic and is serving a life sentence for the crime.
