Gas prices have taken a leap over the last few days. Triple-A says the average cost for a gallon of regular no-lead gas is now four-dollars-36 cents across the Land of Lincoln, that’s up a dime in the past week. Gas in the Kankakee area is running 4.34 a gallon up 11 cents from week ago prices. Triple-A says the average cost for gas in Iroquois County is now 4.21 a gallon, it’s 4.27 a gallon in Ford County, 4.26 in Grundy County and 4.33 in Will County.
Across the State Line, Triple-A says that gallon of gas will set you back three-dollars-53 cents on average in Newton County. It’s 3.56 in Benton County and 3.72 in Jasper County. Triple-A says a gallon of gas is running three-dollars-62 cents on average across the Hoosier State. Indiana Governor Mike Braun has suspended that state’s tax on gasoline through August 6th.
