Kankakee woman victim of alleged armed robbery

A woman was allegedly robbed at gun point on Kankakee’s eastside Wednesday afternoon. According to Kankakee City Police reports, they were called to the alleged armed robbery around 1:45 Wednesday afternoon. When they arrived, the woman alleged she was robbed by a tall black man wearing a light green hoodie and blue jeans armed with a handgun at the north-east corner of South Harrison Avenue and East River Street. The man apparently took the woman’s iPhone and a large amount of cash. The victim was able to identify 26-year-old Adrian Banks as the alleged robber. Banks was picked up by city police during a routine traffic stop Thursday afternoon and placed under arrest for armed robbery with a firearm.
