Folks across the area will once again be assessing storm damage today. A series of tornado warnings were issued across the area with tornadoes spotted either aloft or on the ground in several areas Wednesday night. The worst of the storms seem to have spared Kankakee County this time, but storm damage is being reported in Streator, Dwight, Watseka and Hoopeston as well as Newton and Benton Counties in Northwest Indiana.

In Livingston County, officials report severe damage from at least one tornado that passed through the South Streator area and damage around Emington and Campus.

In Iroquois County, damage from a suspected tornado has caused several power outages  and storm related damage. Facebook posts from the Watseka Police say damage has closed several streets on the south side of the City. The Iroquois County Courthouse to be closed for the day today.

Down in Hoopeston Emergency Managers say a storm spotter saw a tornado just south of Illinois Route 9 and South Sixth Avenue. Damage assessments are on-going in that area.

Trees and power lines are reported down in several communities in Northwest Indiana.
