Indiana State Police say there was a fatal crash on the southbound side of I-65 near State Road 10 Friday night. Reports say the crash happened just before seven Friday night when a pick-up truck crashed into a semi trailer. The passenger in the pick-up was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The driver, identified as 39-year-old Garret Markovich of Cedar Lake, Indiana was taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries. Indiana State Police say Markovich was driving under the influence. He’s been charged with reckless homicide, criminal recklessness resulting in death and reckless driving among other charges.
