The resignation letter went on to say Ashcraft was thankful for the time he got to spend on the board and the trust his friends and neighbors put in him. Chairman Alexander-Hildebrand then announced the official vacancy on the Board. The County Board 20th District includes a good portion of Bradley and Bourbonnais west of Kennedy Drive and a portion of the north side of Kankakee.
Also during this morning’s meeting, the County Board accepted the lowest responsible bids for roof work to be done to county buildings following the damage from the March tornado. The bids for work to be done on the Animal Control Building, the County Administration Building, the Old Veteran’s Assistance Commission Building and the County Highway Building came in at just under 807-thousand dollars. All three bids awarded to Langlois Roofing.
