After roughly four hours of deliberation Friday, the jury in the Xandria Harris murder trial has found her guilty of first degree murder, attempted murder, and aggravated battery in helping her then boyfriend Darius Sullivan in the December 2021 shooting death of Bradley Police Sergeant Marlene Rittmanic and severe wounding of Officer Tyler Bailey. A press conference was held at the Bradley Police Department about an hour after the guilty verdicts were delivered Friday night and Chief Don Barber had this to say about it.
A setting hearing has been scheduled for Harris on September 11th, where a sentencing date will be set. Sullivan has tried and convicted for his part in the crime last year and is now serving a life sentence.
