Rensselaer Police look for suspected carjacker

Rensselaer Police are looking for a person of interest in a car jacking that happened yesterday morning at the Family Express near 114 and I-65 about 10 yesterday morning. In a Facebook post, Rensselaer Police say the victim was at one of the gas pumps when she was approached by a man who implied he had a gun and told her to give up her car. He then got into the car and took off northbound up the interstate. Reports say the car later crashed on the toll road near the Illinois/Indiana border and the thief took off on foot. There’s a photo of the suspect on the Rensselaer Police Department Facebook page. They ask anyone with information to contact their office.
