U.S. Senate Democratic Whip Dick Durbin was in town Friday for a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new point-of-care laboratory at Hippocrates Medical Clinic in downtown Kankakee.
The clinic is being funded by the nonprofit health care access organization Heart to Heart International. Officials say the new lab will significantly enhance the clinic’s ability to provide rapid diagnostic testing and essential services to uninsured and underinsured residents throughout Kankakee County.
