Manteno Fire reports nobody was injured in a battery fire at the Gotion plant Wednesday. In a press release, Manteno Community Fire Protection District Fire Chief Rick Peterson says his department was called to the battery fire on South Spruce Street about 4:30 yesterday afternoon. When they got there, firefighters found the fire had been put out by the Gotion Fire Brigade and the affected battery pack had been removed from the building to a quarantine area. Nobody was injured and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
