Fire Destroys Food Trailer in Downtown Kankakee Thursday

Brother George’s Barbeque truck went up in flames early Thursday afternoon in Downtown Kankakee. Kankakee Fire Chief Bryan LaRoche says firefighters were called to the corner of East Court Street and South Harrison around one yesterday afternoon to find the food trailer fully involved in flames. Cause of the fire is believed to have been a mechanical issue with their generator. Crews were on scene of the fire for about an hour. The pick-up truck pulling the trailer and the food trailer itself have been deemed a total loss causing around fifty thousand dollars worth of damage. No one was injured in the blaze.
