2 Children in Critical Condition, 1 Arrested After Severe Crash

One person was arrested and two children are hospitalized in critical condition following an crash on east Route 17 late last night. In a press release, Kankakee County Sheriff’s Deputies say it was just after 11:30 last night when they were called to the area of 3700 east Route 17 for an automated crash alert from an iPhone. When they got there, deputies say they found a pick-up partially submerged in a creek. Reports say two children were in the truck at the time of the crash and both were taken to a Chicago-area hospital in critical condition. The driver of the car, identified as 58-year-old Phyllis A Moses of Pembroke Township was taken to a local hospital and later arrested for driving under the influence.
